Dear Parents and students,
Bienvenidos a la clase de español. (Welcome to Spanish class!)
For the 2020-2021 school year I will be teaching all Kindergarten and First Grade Spanish classes in the 150 Building.
*Students in Kindergarten thru second grade have Spanish twice per 6-day cycle. In third and fourth grade students will have Spanish one time per cycle. In Kindergarten we begin to explore the Spanish language and culture and continue this in subsequent years.
We use the Sonrisas curriculum which is specifically designed for elementary children and focuses on developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through lots of movement and song. In Kindergarten we will begin the year with basic greetings and introductions and move on from there. In first grade we will review some topics from Kindergarten and introduce new ideas. Please see the Kindergarten and First grade pages for specific information about each class.
On our class website you will find additional resources for learning and practicing Spanish as well as class newsletters, vocabulary pages, and study guides that are given out in class.
Thanks for checking out our site and I'm looking forward to an exciting and fun year of learning together!
Please feel free to contact me anytime regarding your child:
[email protected] or 610-903-1300 ext. 7961
**Why do we teach Spanish K-12 at Collegium?**
Please check out this link for information on the importance of learning a second language!
